Project Overview

Shopping Complex:  Construction of a luxury shopping mall with a 3-storey central atrium linking one 2-storey and two single storey shopping areas providing a total built-up area of 24,000m². Interior fit-out works excluding shop interiors, all MEP services, hard and soft landscaping, external car parking and a detached electrical substation formed part of the contract. Elaborate interior structures and finishes are incorporated throughout the complex such as glazed domes and skylights, 3-storey tall columns, extensive GRC decorations, floor tiling laid to Islamic designs, intricate gypsum-board and aluminium decorative ceilings, etc. Two of the shopping areas recreate an authentic Arabic and Bahraini souk environment using traditional materials and features, such as GRC elements with Islamic designs, ornate hand-carved wood latticework for a variety of mashrabias and screens, pergolas, tents and date palm ceilings.

Extension Wing:  Construction of a new shopping area with a built-up area of 9,000m² consisting of a ground, mezzanine and first floor. The scope included all associated fit-out works, MEP services, modification works and landscaping. The new shopping area accommodates 20 new shops of various sizes ranging from 90m² to 500m², a department store (1,200m²), lobby areas and restroom facilities. The central atrium features a curved steel-frame column and roof structure, with lattice girders and an aluminium and double-glazed roof cover
